Website SEO Algorithms
First up - what is an algorithm? Can't imagine that in the days before search engines that it was a word so freely bandied about in mixed company - as it is today. Anyways (according to Wikipedia) in mathematics, computing, linguistics and related disciplines, an algorithm is a type of effective method in which a list of well-defined instructions for completing a task will, when given an initial state, proceed through a well-defined series of successive states, eventually terminating in an end-state. The transition from one state to the next is not necessarily deterministic; some algorithms, known as probabilistic algorithms, incorporate randomness. So there you have it - it's one of them!
And how does that relate to search engines and their behaviour? Well it's all to do with 'maffs 'innit! Actually it is - and we suspect that most SEO types who pontificate about search engine algorithms in particular - may not know enough about it all to do so. Here at SEO Brokers we're at least up-front enough to admit it - we don't know everything about the dreaded 'algos'. But we do know a bunch of stuff!
At SEO Brokers we know that you need at least two things to be indexed in today’s major search engines: links and content. Without one or the other you’re pretty much dead in the water. How much you need of either is not clear to anyone and certainly not to us. Most SEOs have thrown their eggs into the “you mostly need links” basket. That makes them vulnerable to competition because, favouring either links or content too much - is inefficient and restrictive. How do you know when you need more links or content? Use a tried and trusted SEO Method: experiment, evaluate, adjust.
If you'd like some help in 'algo-interpreting' do give us a call at SEO Brokers - we don't promise to know all the answers but chances are we'll surely -'know a man who can!'
